Cubberley Receives $35,486.00 Grant
We are pleased to announce that our school applied for and received a $35,486 grant from the Jimmie Johnson Foundation!! This is great news for our school. The funds will be used to purchase Teachers College Reading and Writing Project Classroom Libraries. The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project has developed state-of-the-art classroom libraries for each grade level. Curated by Lucy Calkins and TCRWP colleagues along with a team of literacy leaders and children's literature experts, these libraries contain 400-700 leveled books at each grade level-all organized into collections based on level, genre, topic, and available in versions for students reading both at and below benchmark. Our teachers are working hard to ensure that every student receives quality literacy instruction on a daily basis. This grant along with our reading curriculum and extensive professional development will support the work that our teachers are doing in the classroom.
